I had the pleasure to be the founder of one of the very first collaborative studio projects, with the use of vacant space in Düsseldorf, and to lead it for several years.
HALLE3 was born and grew in an old screw factory (then Boui Boui Bilk) and the former postal distribution center (then Post Post). A creative space for artists, designers and other creative minds. A breeding ground for ideas and exchange, as well as a platform for exhibitions, vernissages and joint creative work.
The name "HALLE3" resulted from the characteristics of the location. The history of the factory and the materials we still found there inspired Afra Schanz and me for the branding, which was created using lead typesetting and digital post-processing.
